A joint meeting of the South Indian film Chambers, Tamil Film Producers Council and South Indian Artistes Association has decided to suspend members from Karnataka. The suspension will last till the problem was solved, a release said. No cooperation would be extended to film crews from Karnataka when they come here for film shooting, editing and re-recording, it added.
President of South Indian Film Chamber of Commerce, KRG while talking about this has said that if the situation will not recover its normalcy, all those members will be out from the chamber permanently.
In another incident two fast food restaurants, belonging to a business house from Karnataka, were ransacked allegedly by a group of advocates here on Wednesday, in an apparent retaliation to attacks on cinema halls showing Tamil movies and Tamil Sangam office in Bangalore in the wake of the Tamil Nadu-Karnataka standoff on Hogenakkal water project.
